Image result for express yourselves

Term 3 was an exciting term! in fact it was the busiest term of the year we went to museums and went to go see the sea walls!. Our topic/inquiry was how we express ourselves and we found out that we could do that through many different things!. We expressed ourselves by dance, art, music and many more things we went to the mtg museum to find out how artists express themselves in art and paintings it amazing and then we got given a picture and we had to create a skit to express it in our own strange way it was so fun!. We went to see the sea walls in car groups and we had so much fun making up skits about them. We did so much and had so much fun in term 3 now bring on term 4!!!.

Music and how it affects us

My Speech

Last week my class presented speeches on a topic they chose to do. My topic was music and how it affects us.

The reason I chose this topic is that music got banned from the classrooms at my school earlier in the year and I wanted to bring it back. So I wrote a speech about how music can be helpful while doing class work, if you would like to read my speech you can click here.

I think I did quite good comparing to my classes scores i got a 72/100 I did not get into the team finals but thats OK at least I did my best. What I could of done better is relax instead of tensing up when I spoke and improved my powerpoint prensentation.

Some of the speech topics in my class were the Syrian war, refugees, poverty, smoking and the driving age.

Hokey Pokey Week 5

Hokey Pokey

For week 4-5 maths we made up business plans for selling hokey pokey to the rest of the school. In small groups we made a document that we could all go on to show each other our own ideas for the main business plan. On the document we put the ingredients that we were going to need to buy to make the hokey pokey. Then we searched the Internet to find the cheapest ingredients so that we could maximize our profits. After we had bought the ingredients we were up to the next step - making the hokey pokey! We borrowed some portable gas cookers from the food technology block and set them up in our classroom.

Then we got to it!

We chose some people to be our cooks and make the hokey pokey. They were:
Phoebe, Talia, Samantha, Jaxon, Joel and Bryce.
They melted sugar, golden syrup and baking soda in a saucepan for 5-6 minutes. it went all fizzy and swelled up like lava!
Then they poured it out on to a oven tray with baking paper and left it to rest until hard.
When it was hard they handed it over to the wrappers who wrapped
the hokey pokey with sheets of clear cellophane and a ribbon round the top.

Then it was ready to sell!!

We set up a hokey pokey stall at morning tea on Wednesday the 1st of June...
and we sold out instantly!!!!

I want to thank miss Paterson for organizing it all.
Thanks!!
